CDCTS Proudly Recognizes the Accomplishments of Our Members

Each year CDCTS sponsors a year-end awards dinner and program. Our year-end awards banquet is a special occasion on which we get together to enjoy good food, an educational speaker or silent auction, and the presentation of awards. The banquet is open to anyone who reserves a spot, so come and see all the fun things you’ve been missing out on if you’re not a current CDCTS member.

For members who actively show in either schooling or rated shows from Junior/Young Riders to Adult Amateurs and even open competitors, we offer very nice awards to honor their achievements in the show ring. In the past CDCTS has given out cut-glass trophies, plaques, and other personalized or functional awards such as embroidered coolers, engraved halters, Ariat boot and garment bags, and embroidered directors chairs...all of which were well-received by members. When we say we have a great year-end awards program...we mean it! When you earn an award, we know you’ll be very happy with it.

For the 2010 membership year, a “volunteering” requirement is included in the eligibility requirements for members who want to be eligible for year-end awards. You must complete a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer work for CDCTS as part of your eligibility requirement. Please visit the Volunteer page to learn more about our volunteer program and how you can help us as a volunteer. The completed volunteer hour log must be submitted along with your scores by November 1, 2010.

A copy of the CDCTS year-end award rules and qualifying scores as well as a copy of the Volunteer Hour Log are available on our DOWNLOAD DOCUMENTS page.

About the Jack Foster Perpetual Trophy: The Jack Foster award was conceived by the club in the 1990s as a memorial to the husband of Karen Foster, a past president of the club. At one time the club put on three or four rated shows in Harriman, and Jack always volunteered to announce all day long at every one of them. He died suddenly of a heart attack in his mid-forties. The award is given each year to the rider with the highest point score from Training level or above at all the schooling shows. It is a perpetual trophy, and each year a new plaque is added to the base to show the winner of the award for that year. The winner keeps the trophy until the next year, when another plaque is added and another winner takes the trophy home for the year.

Congratulations to our 2009 Year-End Award Winners!
